It’s All In Your Head
album review by Lauren Estadt To me, this is a concept album that’s meant to take the listener on a journey. The outline is here for us to follow, and the details come from… inside your head. What does it mean??? Dear listener, that’s up to you and your brain to decide. Join Pleiadian Dream for a trip through space, time, place, and see if you can find your way back 🫠 or whether it was all just a dream… 1. Star Talker - ok buckle up baby we’re going for a riiiide. Turning this one WAY up. The beat at 1:55 drives me wild. 2. It’s All In Your Head - very on brand lol. The little squelches are giving me ASMR goosebumps. I feel like there is a conversation happening in a language I can’t understand. 3. Imaginary Friends - WE HAVE SIGHTED A UFO TOUCHING DOWN PREPARE YOURSELVES. Oh it’s majestic though maybe they’re nice 😊 - oooo maybe to be continued? |
4. P. Funk 'LD - funky for suuuure. Have I been abducted? Am I about to meet the alien leader?? It’s quite ominous and tribal but industrial and musical all at once. You know that scene in the 5th element where the opera singer is performing? I feel like this would fit in that genre!
5. Cetacean Dreamer - wait…. Am I a whale? Did I dream all of that? Did the aliens turn me into a whale? All I know is I like it down here in the bubbly deep. Whatever you did around the 2 min mark made my brain squiggle. This song just gets better and better it might be my fav it’s so epic. I must know if these are real whale sounds.
6. Little Strange Dancers - Triumphantly galactic are the words that comes to mind. The bass is soooo bassssyyyyyyy and delicious. I’m glad this song was as long as it is - you had a lot to say.
7. Faux Pas - Is that a vibraphone or something I’m hearing? I like the melody part a lot. Back to this feeling of a conversation between beings again - judging by the song title perhaps something has gone terribly wrong.
8. Squeaky Speak - ooo ooo get amped something’s happening are we entering a worm hole? We’re definitely going places and the high energy moments here are an album highlight for me.
9. Wormhole Whiplash - ok fuck I WAS right!!!! I swear I didn’t look ahead at the track list that’s wild. But maybe it was like a Time Machine wormhole, like we’re in the past and it’s a little wonky. I’m getting a slight sense of impending doom but it’s only spooky, not scary - I want more. Kind of like walking through a dark cave with only a flashlight. Are the aliens trying to teach us something? Maybe that’s light at the end of the tunnel?
10. Spiraled Out - this is really taking me on a journey… am I being spaghettified?? Is spaghettified such a bad way to go after all? If this is how it ends, I think I’d be alright with that. I’m at peace ✌️ 👽
